Massillamany & Jeter LLP became Massillamany, Jeter & Carson LLP on January 1, 2018 with the addition of Amy O. Carson as an equity partner. Ms. Carson had spent two years with the firm prior to becoming a named partner. Ms. Carson focuses her practice in the areas of family law, including dissolution, custody, child support, asset division, and related matters. She also handles related issues on appeal, and has appeared before the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court.
“Amy Carson is one of the preeminent family law attorneys of our generation,” said firm managing partner Chris Jeter. “Her dedication, work ethic, and intellect have been on full display over the past two years, and she has proven herself to be an invaluable asset to this law firm.” Lawyers and clients alike can expect Ms. Carson to play a key role in the firm’s future. “Amy has been, and will continue to be, a cornerstone of our growth strategy” Jeter added.
Ms. Carson is equally excited about the opportunities that her addition as a named partner will present. “I want to thank my partners, Chris and Mario, for their faith in me. I also want to commit to our clients that we will continue to provide the highest-level of legal services at the most affordable rates we can,” Carson said. “I think we are just seeing the beginning of what can happen when a law firm really dedicates itself to providing a higher level of client service,” she added.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Hanover College in 2004, Ms. Carson earned her law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2007. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Indiana. Ms. Carson has served on Hanover College’s Alumni Board and has remained active with Hanover’s Chi Omega chapter.
