INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A male track coach who was employed by Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township in Indianapolis faces multiple felony charges for allegedly having sex with a sixteen-year-old female student. Authorities claim that 26-year-old Harrison Goss had sex with the girl several times between January and April of 2025. Goss was employed as a track coach at Ben Davis High School at the time, and the girl was a manager for the track team.
Police claim that Goss was sending the girl text messages and nude photos and that he gave her a ride home after practice, during which he fondled her in his vehicle.
Massillamany Jeter & Carson partner and school sex abuse attorney Tom Blessing said that this case fits a pattern of grooming behavior he’s seen before. “When children are the victims of school sexual abuse, the abuser will often use his position of authority to earn their trust and befriend them. They spend more time together until pretty soon they’re interacting on social media. It may seem ‘innocent’ at first, then they exchange phone numbers, then start texting, then sexting, then sending pictures, until it escalates to physical contact. It’s so predictable.”
According to Blessing, many of those who commit sexual abuse at school exploit their regular, direct, sometimes private interactions with students. “We see some teachers and coaches flattering kids to make them feel good about themselves. We see them giving students private lessons or rides home after school or practice. They use the pretext of ‘helping’ kids or giving them ‘extra attention’ as an excuse to spend time alone with them.”
