POLK COUNTY, FL- Authorities have charged a Florida school administrator with lewd misconduct for forcing a 13-year-old male student to rub her feet. Police say 53-year-old Kaiva Lark was employed as an assistant principal at Lake Marion Creek Middle School. When a boy was sent to her office for throwing paper wads in class, she told him to rub her feet then proceeded to take off her shoes and put her legs on his lap.
“If the allegations are true, this individual has no business being around children—especially in a position of authority at school,” said sexual abuse attorney Tom Blessing. According to Blessing, this type of behavior usually happens in private and doesn’t get reported promptly. “Most grooming takes place behind closed doors and goes unreported for months or even years. In this case it looks like there were witnesses and the principal notified police right away.”
